Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

Why not treat yourself?

I provide a range of massage and other complementary therapies that will bring you back in connection to yourself, the world and all that you love in your life. When you book a treatment with me, you are making a decision to take care of yourself and to honour your needs. You realise the importance of your body and mind and its natural well-being and recognise the desire to function at your fullest potential.

The therapies I offer may help relieve the effects of stress and other discomforts and help put you back together again. Together we can empower your body to liberate itself from the rigours of a busy life and an active lifestyle and restore your vitality.

“Sally is so good for my old bones!  I feel as if I have been ironed out mentally and physically after an appointment.  Just walking into the treatment room I find so relaxing and I leave walking six inches taller, feeling I can face the world again.

Sally has a very special gift, indeed she is a very special person, who always manages to somehow make my body feel eighteen again!  Back pain disappears, knees bend again, and I really do feel so much better.”
– June Andrews

I am happy to discuss treatment options with you before you book or at the time of your appointment. Alternatively, you can choose from the wide range of therapies I offer.

Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

With over 30 years of experience in massage and bodywork and over 40 years of experience in health care, you can be assured that I am committed to providing you with the best experience possible. Each session you book with me is carefully tailored to your needs at that time based upon the information you provide and my own observations; as such, each treatment is truly holistic and may include a variety of different bodywork techniques to achieve the desired outcome. These may include many forms of therapeutic, remedial and deep tissue massage, mobilisations and stretches, neuromuscular techniques, myofascial release work, the use of hot and/or cold stones, healing, breath work and relaxation techniques, Rhythm Mobility®, acupressure and trigger point work, soft tissue release, MET’s etc.

In all types of massage therapy, the intention is to relax the soft tissues, increase awareness of the body as a whole, and help the body and mind to relax.

Massage may be found to bring relief from everyday aches, reduce stress, increase relaxation, address feelings of anxiety and tension, and aid general wellness. It can also be used in support of other therapies to assist in the rehabilitation of muscular injuries.

What happens during a treatment?

I usually book clients for 30 minutes to 1-hour sessions; the fee you pay is based upon the time taken for the massage itself, not the consultation time or any advice given after the treatment. We will discuss your symptoms, medical history and what you would like to gain from the treatment. The massage will be performed whilst you lie comfortably on my luxury couch, usually with oils but maybe without or through clothes at times. Depending upon time and your needs, the massage may include your whole body or be focused on chosen areas. Extended treatments can be arranged, the extra time allows for a more thorough treatment or for more combinations of therapies to be used. Communication is key and your wishes and preferences are paramount, so please let me know if you don’t like particular techniques or prefer a particular approach and always tell me during a session if you experience pain or discomfort.

Benefits of Massage

There are many anecdotal benefits of massage and my clients have reported so many over the many years I’ve been in practice. For some evidence-based benefits. Please visit here.
