Stone Therapy Massage

Also known as hot stone massage, this is a speciality massage that uses smooth, heated stones that are placed on different parts of the body and used as an extension of my hands. I offer this as a dedicated 1-hour massage however you can request hot stones to be incorporated into other treatments without any additional cost. The stones are basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well; I source them from America where they have been smoothed by natural forces in the river or sea.

This type of treatment has to be one of the most enjoyable and relaxing therapeutic massages available. The heat of the stones penetrates deep into muscle tissue, easing locked in tensions and encouraging the muscles to relax 4-5 times faster than in a standard body massage. The increased circulation revitalises tired, aching muscles and the combination of effects not only accelerates any healing processes but also creates a state of deep mental relaxation.
