“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
My Inspiration
My life’s work has been to understand and harness the healing and power of connection; connection to self, other and all that is. People have described me as an alchemist, combining the transformational elements of touch and connection in all of my therapeutic and teaching work. I regularly provide myself with challenges, adventures and trips away, often in my camper van. This enables me to enrich my own life, replenish my soul and maintain a hearty sense of humour when my expectations are contrary to reality.
My intention
The aim and intention for everything I do is to help, support and enable others to reconnect and in doing so enhance their quality of life. I achieve this through my work as a co-active coach, teacher, therapist and practitioner. These aspects of my work interweave and are nourished by my extensive experience in teaching, running a private practice, and working with different organisations. My background in nursing, counselling and coaching helps me to provide individualised, holistic treatments and a range of courses that can be adapted for different levels of interest and ability.
My path
This fascination with health and healing began over 40 years ago during my training in general and psychiatric nursing and counselling. I learnt to appreciate the importance of mind, body, spirit awareness in health which led to my interest in complementary therapy training.
My integration
Thirty years on in the field of complementary health, I have amassed a wealth of learning and experience which I integrate into my practice and teaching. Alongside my JFB MFR, holistic massage and bodywork, reflexology and a variety of advanced massage qualifications, I’m also a CTI co-active coaching and leadership graduate, a reiki master and a massage in schools instructor with special needs experience. As MD of On the Spot, I organise treatments at exhibitions, events, festivals and work places throughout the U.K and host the On the Spot Training School in Essex.
Your learning
I am a registered tutor with the Massage Training Institute in London (massage, anatomy, physiology & pathology) and have gained extensive experience teaching complementary therapies and personal development workshops and courses privately and for a variety of organisations. I enjoy teaching with inspirational colleagues across the U.K often combining our collective learning and expertise within one course. I offer training in myofascial release, seated massage and a host of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) days. I enjoy teaching introductory workshops and reiki courses and supporting people to develop new skills and approaches. I joined the teaching faculty at Bodyology school of massage in the summer of 2013 and have loved my time as course leader there.
